Suggestions:

The competitive and compelling nature of the League saw Leicester City secure their first ever top-flight title with a record swing in points accumulated – from 41 in 2014/15 to 81 in 2015/16.

Our revenue distribution is the most equitable of Europe’s major football leagues. This helps our clubs to be competitive as well as develop and invest in talent, facilities and their communities.

The revenue distributed to clubs includes income generated from the sale of central broadcasting rights (UK and international) and other central commercial rights.

The mechanism for distributing this revenue is the most equitable of Europe’s major football leagues and is based on the Premier League Founder Members’ Agreement, signed in 1992.

It works as follows:

  • 50% of UK broadcast revenue split equally between the 20 clubs.
  • 25% of UK broadcast revenue paid in Merit Payments (“Prize Money” per place in the table).
  • 25% of UK broadcast revenue paid in Facility Fees each time a club’s matches are broadcast in the UK.
  • All international broadcast revenue, and central commercial revenue, split equally amongst the clubs.

Player progression

“The facilities we now have are the perfect platform for our young players to progress into the first team. It gives us another dimension to the way we want to develop our players. It really is a top-class facility at Landore.”

Nigel Rees, Academy Manager, Swansea City

Beacon of Light

“We’re proud to be developing ‘The Beacon of Light’ – an inspiring facility right alongside the Stadium. It’ll house our new Free School as well as sports halls, football pitches and flexible education spaces. Thousands will benefit from the health and fitness, sport and play and employability opportunities.”
